
Dr. Eva Steliarova-Foucher
Dr Eva Steliarova-Foucher is a scientist at the Cancer Surveillance Branch of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of WHO. She studied at the Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK and obtained her PhD degree in 1994. She had worked at the Slovak National Cancer Registry before she joined the IARC in 1994. Currently, she leads the IARC Research Team Childhood Cancer Awareness and Research Evidence. She also leads several international studies of childhood cancer burden, including International Incidence of Childhood Cancer, Cancer risk in childhood cancer survivors: understanding the causes to target prevention (CRICCS), Targeting Childhood Cancer through the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development and the International Classification of Childhood Cancer (ChildGICR). She had coordinated international consortia of cancer registries.
